FROM THE WIRES...
Welcome to “Come Over October,” a national campaign encouraging people to reconnect with friends, family, and colleagues over a glass of wine. Come Over October aims to celebrate the social aspect of wine, fostering in-person connection and camaraderie during the month of October. It advocates for a moment of respite in a fast-paced world and encourages us to take a break from our busy schedules, share stories, and reconnect with one another over a glass of wine.
And what better way to do so than by extending an evening with friends over a glass of delicious Port from W. & J. Graham’s Trio Port pack (SRP $55)! This dinner party-ready pack showcases three delicious Graham’s Ports (described below) in an accessible 200 ml size, perfect for sharing with friends and stretching out the evening with one another.
Acquired by Symington Family Estates in 1970, W. & J. Graham’s has been an independent family business renowned for producing the finest Port wines for two centuries. Today, it remains at the cutting edge of innovation in winemaking techniques as 10 Symington cousins share responsibility for every aspect of the B-Corp certified company.
Graham’s Six Grapes Reserve Port is named for the mark of quality that Graham’s winemakers used, dating back to the nineteenth century. The image of six grapes on a barrel indicated Vintage Port potential, based on the wines’ complexity, structure and balance. By the early 1900’s, Graham’s began bottling wine selected from these barrels under the Six Grapes label. Six Grapes is a full bodied wine with rich black fruit flavors, fragrant cherry and ripe plum aromas.
Graham’s 10 Year Old Tawny Port
Made from only the highest quality grapes from Symington Family Estates’ coveted vineyards in the Douro Valley of Portugal, Graham’s 10 Year Old Tawny Port is deep in tawny color with complex nutty aromas combined with hints of honey and figs on the nose. Benefiting from aging in oak casks, the palate on this young blend follows with mature fruit flavors and concludes with a long luscious finish.
Graham's 20 Year Old Tawny Port is a reflection of the three essential arts of Tawny Port winemaking: blending, cooperage, and prolonged aging in seasoned oak casks until reaching peak maturity. The result of the skillful blending is the evident, on-the-nose bouquet with nutty characteristics followed by hints of orange peel and mature fruits that are mellowed by aging. On the palate, a sweet yet smooth tasting experience gives way to a balanced and elegant finish
