NHL Hall of Fame Hockey player Chris Chelios and former NFL player Jim Bob Morris wanted their tequila, and wanted it smooth, criminally smooth. So, they started their own: El Bandido Yankee Tequila.
I just tried the El Bandido Blanco (no age), $40, and the El Bandido Reposado (aged in American whiskey barrels, stripped and re-charred, for less than one year), $45, and I concur. These are smooth tequilas.
They hail from Jalisco, Mexico, the first state of tequila. Both are made from 100% Blue Weber Agave (table stakes for premium tequila), distilled to 40% ABV, and are additive-free.
On the off-chance that you are planning a party this holiday season, these two beverages are recommended.
Sample.
