FROM THE WIRES...
El Negocio Tequila, a pure, 100% additive-free sipping tequila made by a third generation Master Distiller and conceived by a 100-point Napa Valley vintner, is thrilled to announce the debut of its Joven and Reposado expressions.
With foundational ties to Memento Mori, Napa Valley’s cult Cabernet Sauvignon, El Negocio is singularly focused on bridging the worlds of fine wine and tequila. The Joven and Reposado expressions of El Negocio spend time in the very French oak barrels that aged Memento Mori’s 100-point Cabernet – perfect for any lover of both Napa Valley wine and fine sipping tequila.
El Negocio is crafted by Master Distiller Chava Rosales at his family’s Fabrica de Tequila El Cascahuín – among Jalisco’s very small handful of producers that are making additive-free tequila the traditional way.
The result bridges the worlds of tequila and wine – an unholy alliance, if you will. More details on El Negocio’s newest offerings are below:
Joven (SRP: $125): A blend of El Negocio Blanco and Reposado, this Joven spends four months in Memento Mori’s 100-point wine barrels before being bottled. Caramelized agave notes are accompanied by pitted tropical fruits and floral undertones. The velvety texture caresses the palate and leaves a lengthy finish and a warming, round mouthfeel.
· Reposado (SRP: $125): A bouquet of cooked agave, bolstered with hints of honey, vanilla, and caramel, leads into a clean and subtly sweet palate expression. The unforgettable finish bursts with minerality and spicy complexity from four months spent aging in Memento Mori wine barrels.
Additionally, El Negocio Blanco Tequila (SRP: $90) was released this fall, which turned collectors’ heads months before its official debut after a preview bottle sold for $10,000 at a top Napa Valley auction.
