From the Wires...

Apheleia Restaurant Group’s (“ARG’s”) highly anticipated seafood, raw bar, and steak restaurant is opening in Whitacre Tower at the ATT campus in Downtown Dallas (208 S. Akard St. #105, Dallas, Texas 75202).

Dallas, Texas: ARG is excited to announce the opening of its newest concept, Hawthorn. Doors will open to the public at 4 pm on Friday, January 15, 2021. Due to the pandemic, the menu will be minimally abridged, and the hours limited as below. Ultimately, Hawthorn will open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner services.

Initial Operating Hours:

Tuesday–Thursday 4 pm to 9 pm

Friday-Saturday, 4 pm to 10 pm

“We are thrilled to be opening at the center of ATT’s Discovery District. To be a part of this prestigious development anchored by one of the world’s most dynamic companies is an incredible honor. Indeed, the growth trajectory of downtown in general is exciting and we are embracing the opportunity,” states Richard Ellman, ARG’s owner. “Hawthorn will seek not only to be a fantastic amenity for ATT’s workforce and the greater downtown area, but more than that we hope to be yet another reason for the greater Dallas population to come downtown.”

The menu will feature a broad array of fresh seafood, premium steaks, and both classic and modern sushi. Some examples of what to expect include rotisserie huli huli pheasant, rosemary grilled jumbo shrimp, miso black cod, anchococo Colorado rack of lamb, and a filet flight. On the beverage side, Hawthorn will boast a thoughtful array of craft cocktails, healthy juices, and a broad wine selection – the organic skinny hawthorn berry margarita and mayhew Singapore sling are two highlights of the cocktail list. “We want to wow customers with a consistently delicious, high quality dining experience and a component of that is derived from the elegant and approachable design. Hopefully, guests will enjoy the attention we paid to every detail, from the ergonomics of the furniture to the world-class art. One of my favorite elements of the design is the railroad station style sign where we will display the daily oysters and other features.” The space is divided into multiple distinct areas: 1) the vibrant raw bar with an oyster shucking station, large televisions, and ample seating where the entire menu can be enjoyed; 2) the main dining room; 3) the Port Room, an elegant and cozy room for after-dinner drinks; and 4) a luxurious private dining space.
