While the Texas High Plains is the main growing area (70% of all wine grapes) and the Texas Hill Country is the state's shop window (70+ wineries, most with tasting rooms) North Texas should not be ignored. There are over 30 wineries north of Dallas/Fort Worth and south of the Red River. And, in my opinion based on my tasting notes, they include two of the state's best. Eden Hill Winery and Vineyard and Arché Winery and Vineyard.
To bring themselves more north Texas eyeballs they formed their own association: North Texas Wine Country and today they were kind enough to send a timetable of what's going on.
