by Andrew Chalk
Only 928 cases of this wine produced by this small winery in Dry Creek Valley. Aged in François Fréres French oak. One third new, one third one year old, and one third two years old.
Nose of tomato leaf, cranberry, raspberry and barrel toast. Flavors confirm this, also pomegranate and a base of bay leaf. Chewy tannins and a medium-length finish. Could be more complex in the mouth. Serve with duck, pork or veal. Went well with roasted vegetables (Brussels sprouts, leak).
Sample.
