WINE REVIEW: 2017 Chaddsford Dry Rosé, Saignée à Trois, Pennsylvania ($25)

by Andrew Chalk

Appearance: Sunset orange;

Nose: Rose petals, raspberry, burnt match heads;

Palate: Crisp dry light wine. Good body. Red fruit.

An unusual blend of 42% pinot noir, 41% merlot, and 17% cabernet sauvignon from an unusual place - Pennsylvania, which has taken to turning out some enjoyable wines in recent years. Chaddsford Winery is one of the leaders. A chewy, balanced wine ideal with pork dishes or salmon in these increasingly warm days.
