WINE REVIEW: 2017 Justin Cabernet Sauvignon, Paso Robles, CA ($26)

andychalk

by Andrew Chalk

This bright ruby-colored wine has a perfumy nose of raspberries and roses, a smokiness and dustiness that is quite alluring, and flashes of French oak. In the mouth the tannins are soft and yielding but impart enough structure to reward slow sipping. The flavors reflect the raspberry notes in the nose, abundant fruit, and ripeness reflecting the warm climate in which the grapes were cultivated.

A bargain. Deserves greater recognition.
