WINE REVIEW: 2018 Il Borro Borrigiano, Valdarno di Sopra DOC ($15)

by Andrew Chalk

Appearance: Ruby but not completely opaque, even at the core.

Nose:Cherry, tomato leaf, herbs.

Palate: Fruit, earthiness. Fruit is ‘juicy’. Tannins form enough to give structure but not harsh. Very easy to drink. Fruit not as intense as expected. Medium-plus acid.

Finish: Earthy finish.

Summary: I liked this wine the more I tried it and the longer it was open. Apparently a blend of Sangiovese, Syrah, and Merlot, according to Wine-Searcher.
