Don Melchor is one of the wines with a strong claim to being the best cabernet sauvignon blend from Chile. This vintage (92% cabernet sauvignon, 5% cabernet franc, 2% merlot, 1% petit verdot) continues the tradition for well-made, age worthy wines that punch above their weight on the world wine scene.

An excellent holiday present of choice with a celebratory steak.

TASTING NOTES

Appearance: Opaque ruby;

Nose: Cedar, black cherry, thyme, bay leaf, pine needles;

Palate: Cherries, hint of green pepper but not too prominent, oak, forest floor, savory notes that escape into the finish. Soft, luxurious tannins. An incredibly well-balanced wine that will likely be even better in a decade.

Sample.
