by Andrew Chalk

A négociant wine of the legendary Georges du Boeuf that was created by the Descombes family. This family has made wine in Beaujolais since the French Revolution.

This example is ready to drink and very pleasant to quaff or pair with duck, pork, or pigeon.

Recommended. And a shout out to cru Beaujolais generally. A style of wine that is underappreciated and consequently a great value.

TASTING NOTES

Appearance: Translucent garnet/crimson;

Nose: Cherry, peach stones, white flowers, oregano;

Palate:Intense kirsch fruit, medium tannins, long fruit-driven finish;

Sample.
