With a nose of cucumber and strawberry, flavors of watermelon, strawberry, and lime, and a vibrant mouthfeel and finish, this rosé is ideal for quaffing on hot summer afternoons.
Information from the winery: Made with organically farmed grapes from our Handley Estate block 5A Pinot Noir, Wadenswil 2A clone planted in 1990. Historically part of our sparkling rose program, this block planted on a bilateral cordon carries a heavy crop helping to maintain the red fruit character and acidity in the grapes. The fruit was pressed whole cluster and fermented in stainless steel. After fermentation approximately 20% of the wine was racked to neutral oak barrels with yeast lees adding texture and roundness to the blend. Malolactic fermentation was avoided. Pale in color and dry, this wine was bottled fresh with a little effervescence.
