This wine is an example of the Douro quietly registering a reputable identity in red wine. Like Bordeaux's historic definition of cabernet sauvignon, merlot, and cabernet franc, and Argentina's more recent definition of malbec, the Douro takes a variety-first approach to defining its identity. Founded around the varieities that so indelibly create Port, this Post Scriptum is 50% touriga nacional, 40% touriga franca, and 10% tinta roriz. As such, I see it not just as a 90+/100 point wine in its own right, but also a sentinel for Douro red wine of the future.
Highly recommended, both as a marker, and as a wine.
