This is an ideal alternative to sauvignon blanc. It is actually a blend of four indigineous grapes (rabigato 30%, viosinho 30%, arinto20%, gouveio 20%). That means it brings the same high acid, non-fruit intensive qualities to the palate as sauvignon blanc but with a different set of flavors, adding variety to the wine selection.
As an expression this is a very good wine and solid value. I would serve it with the usual poultry or white fish, but also Thai or Vietnamese food. I bet, say, lemongrass or ginger flavors are copacetic with this wine.
